The Baltimore Ravens were able to bring back outside linebacker Justin Houston on a one-year deal during the 2022 offseason. The veteran has been one of the key pieces on the Baltimore defense throughout the year, racking up 8.5 sacks in just six games played.
Houston was asked about his offseason training routine as he kept his body in shape and ready. He talked about how he started his day at five in the morning, and would have multiple workouts throughout the course of the day, and that work is now paying off in a “major way”.
“It definitely started at 5 a.m.; my first workout was at 5 a.m. in the morning. So, I would get a workout in before I took the kids to school, dropped them off, then I went and got my second workout in as soon as I dropped them off. Then, I’d take like an hour lunch break and I had my third workout. Some days, I got four workouts in. So, it was three to four workouts a day. So, I was definitely on it and definitely putting in the work. It’s paying off in a major way.”
Houston has long been a productive player at the NFL level, and even at 33 years old is still making a massive impact. While his sack numbers are extremely impressive, he’s also been one of the unquestioned leaders on the team, with his “Yoda” nickname still ringing true as he helps young players by sharing his wisdom through his many experiences, both on the field and off of it.
