The Baltimore Ravens have signed multiple free agents as they look to get back to the playoffs and compete for a Super Bowl championship. Safety Marcus Williams, offensive tackle Michael Pierce and defensive lineman Michael Pierce represent some of the biggest free agent additions for the team, and there could potentially be more on the way.
When listing out the best “bargain-bin” free agents and the best fits for each, Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report named Baltimore as one of the best fits for two of them. The first is a player that the Ravens know very well in former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver A.J. Green, who gave Baltimore all sorts of issues while he was a member of the Cincinnati Bengals. Knox also listed the Green Bay Packers as another good fit for the veteran wideout.
“He’s not well-suited for a rebuilding team, but the veteran would be a fine addition to a win-now squad. The Packers could consider Green as a complementary piece. He would also be a solid fit for the Baltimore Ravens, who have struggled to provide Lamar Jackson with reliable perimeter targets.”
The second free agent that Knox links as a best fit for the Ravens is defensive lineman Arden Key, who visited the team earlier last week. Knox also mentions the San Fransisco 49ers as a good fit for the up-and-coming player.
“Key could still develop into a very valuable rotational rusher. A return to San Francisco would be logical, given his performance last season. The soon-to-be 26-year-old would also make sense for the Ravens, who missed out on an edge-defender when Za’Darius Smith backed out of his deal.”
Both Green and Key would represent great value for any team that signs them. At this point in the offseason, a defensive lineman seems like a bigger need, and Key would give them a versatile option who can play in multiple positions.
