The Ravens announced the hiring of former Chiefs assistant Greg Lewis as Baltimore’s new wide receivers coach Wednesday.
Lewis is coming off six seasons in Kansas City working with Andy Reid. His tenure includes Super Bowl championships in the 2019 and ’22 seasons. From 2017–20, he worked as the wide receivers coach. Then he served as the Chiefs’ running backs coach in ’21 and ’22.
Now, Lewis will work with another Super Bowl-winning coach in John Harbaugh. Lewis replaced Tee Martin, who was previously named the team’s quarterbacks coach.
“Greg has contributed to championship-level offenses and is a proven and creative game planner,” Harbaugh said in a statement. ”His vast experience as a coach and a player will be a significant asset to our wide receivers room. A leader and effective instructor of the craft, Greg has a proven track record of developing talent and maximizing his units’ production.”
This won’t be the first time Lewis has worked with Harbaugh. Lewis played wide receiver with the Eagles from 2003–08, and Harbaugh worked as Philadelphia’s special teams coordinator from 1998 through 2006. Lewis finished his professional playing career in ’09 and ’10 with the Vikings.
Before joining the Chiefs in 2017, Lewis spent one year with the Eagles as their wide receivers coach in ’16, and one year as an offensive assistant with the Saints in ’15.
He also worked at the collegiate level as a wide receivers coach for Pittsburgh, San Jose State and the University of San Diego.
