Ravens HC John Harbaugh shares thoughts on moving RB Gus Edwards to Reserve/PUP list

The Baltimore Ravens are beginning to get back the players that they lost during the 2021 season due to injury. The team activated both running back J.K. Dobbins and cornerback Marcus Peters from the physically unable to perform list, and hopefully offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley and outside linebacker Tyus Bowser can join them in the near future.

One player that won’t be getting off of the list for a while is running back Gus Edwards, who was moved to the reserve/PUP list on Tuesday. Head coach John Harbaugh was asked about the status of Edwards, and he talked about how the running back is still on schedule.

“Yes, that’s kind of what we expected. We did not expect him to be back, probably, the first part of it. That was really [executive vice president & general manager] Eric [DeCosta]’s plan throughout. I’d say that Gus [Edwards] is still on schedule and [I] fully expect him to play quite a bit of football this year.”

Edwards suffered a torn ACL just days before the start of the 2021 season, effectively ending his year. He has been working hard to get back from his ailment, but both he and the team seem to be taking the cautious approach, which is the smart thing to do to avoid risking any time of re-injury.
