Ravens HC John Harbaugh shares thoughts on Baltimore debut of WR Demarcus Robinson

The Baltimore Ravens held their 2022 preseason finale at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday night, defeating the Washington Commanders by a score of 17-15. The victory added on to their impressive consecutive preseason, bumping it up to 23 games. Baltimore’s first score of the game came on a touchdown pass to veteran wide receiver Demarcus Robinson, who was signed by Baltimore just a few days prior.

With less than a minute off of the clock in the second quarter, Ravens quarterback Anthony Brown threw a 67-yard strike to Robinson. The veteran wide receiver had a great game overall, ending the night with 135 receiving yards and a touchdown on four receptions.

Following the game, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh spoke to the media. When asked about the performance of the team’s newest wideout, Harbaugh said it was nice to see him have that game in a purple and black uniform.

“Well, he’s run those routes before. Right? (Demarcus Robinson: ‘Yes sir.’) It’s not the first time he’s run those routes. (laughter) He ran a sluggo, and then he ran an out and up, so those are routes he’s run. But, it wasn’t just that. He had a couple other catches on basic offensive, passing game routes, and he executed very well. That’s what we expected. That’s what we thought we were getting. To see him go out there and do it in the purple and black uniform is kind of nice to see.”

Robinson, 27, has caught 148 passes for 1,679 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns through his first five seasons. He could provide veteran leadership to the team that has young talented receivers in Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay and James Proche II.
