One of the big storylines during the 2022 offseason throughout the entire NFL has been the contract situation of quarterback Lamar Jackson. While the waiting game continues for those eager to see a Jackson extension, a player on the team doesn’t seem too worried about the situation.
On Tuesday, Baltimore defensive lineman Calais Campbell joined “The Jim Rowe Show” and discussed many different topics. One of the more popular takes Campbell gave on the program was surrounding the contract situation of his quarterback and what he sees happening at the end of the day.
“He’s going to be a Raven for life. I’ll be shocked if anything else happens. He loves the organization as well. I think the biggest holdup is that he wants to perform at his highest level so he earns the contract. Which I think is very commendable.”

It’s hard to argue with Campbell on Jackson’s love for the organization. The four-year veteran quarterback has shown time-after-time why he loves playing in Baltimore. However, an extension for Jackson seems like it might not be happening any time soon despite the good relationship that both sides have. The parties have made it clear that they’d like a long-term deal, so now it’s up to them to figure out how to make it work.
