Ravens DC Mike Macdonald talks about the growth of OLB David Ojabo

The Baltimore Ravens drafted outside linebacker David Ojabo in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft out of the University of Michigan. He tore his achilles at his Pro Day and missed all but two games of his rookie season, but is looking to have a dominant second year in the NFL.

After having a full offseason to train and get into football shape, Ojabo is looking to prove why he would’ve been a first round pick if it weren’t for his torn achilles. Defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald spoke to the media after the team’s second session of “football school” about Ojabo and his growth coming into 2023, and had high praise for the outside linebacker.

“The first thing is, is he [David Ojabo] has a full year of the program to physically get himself to a spot … I was actually talking to somebody out there today; he looks great. I feel like he’s put on some good weight and looks stronger and looks fast right now, and more than anything, mentally, I think he’s in a great spot, as well. So, I think you’re going to see a lot of confidence from him throughout the process. So, [it’s] great to see him in good spirits.”
