Raunak Sadhwani remains unbeaten to clinch Serbia Open Masters chess tourney

NAGPUR: The precocious Raunak Sadhwani is now a master of the Serbia Open. The 17-year-old remained unbeaten to emerge champion in a strong field of 233 participants at the Masters group of Serbia Open chess tournament, which concluded at Belgrade on Monday.

In the nine-round classical event, Maharashtra's youngest and city's first Grandmaster (GM) started as a third seed and posted victories in seven rounds while signing the peace treaty thrice to finish on top of the table with 7.5 points. The tournament witnessed participation of 15 GMs and 26 International Masters (IM) from 33 countries.
