Rats at Glasgow flats as landlord blasts 'look at the state of this' in TikTok video

A Glasgow landlord has blasted people dumping their rubbish in shared east end garden.

Nick Ponty says says his tenants are forced to live with rats and a stare at the mountain of junk left behind by departing residents when they look out of the window.

Taking to TikTok he spoke of his outrage at the state of the Dennistoun garden, telling those responsible "do not dump your s*** when you move out".

He explained: "Look at the state of this. I'm doing this video to plead to people, residents in this block, landlords, letting agents, owners, please do not dump your s*** when you move out.

"We have a ground floor flat here and our tenants are having to open their window and look onto this mess because every time something moves out usually this block dumps all the cr** there and it's accumulating."

Nick, who offers landlord and tenant advice added: "It's causing rats. Our tenant actually sent us a picture of a rat on this bin here the other day. There's a dead rat lying in that grass up there.

"I put a sign up here to try and stop people but this is a video to educate people. The council are not gonna lift this stuff up. They have stopped doing the free bulk up lifts. They don't pick up bulk from the back anyway, you have to put it down the front and they charge for that now.

"So as owners now we need to pay to get this removed. Please, please, please do not do this."

Glasgow City Council insist they are not responsible for rubbish on private land.

A spokesman said: "Private property is the responsibility of private owner.”
