Everton were knocked out of the Carabao Cup after a dismal 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth on Tuesday evening.
Demarai Gray's second-half strike proved nothing more than consolation as the Cherries ran riot at the Vitality Stadium, with Jamal Lowe, Junior Stanislas, Emiliano Marcondes and Jaidon Anthony scoring for the home side.
Toffees boss Frank Lampard decided to ring the changes on the south coast, rotating the entire starting lineup from Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Leicester City with 11 changes.

But Gary O'Neil's side opened the scoring within seven minutes, Lowe's shot deflecting heavily off James Garner and into the net. Everton missed several chances before the break, and when Stanislas doubled the home side's lead two minutes into the second-half, a strong away end was audibly frustrated.
Gray pulled one back with 25 minutes left but the Blues were routinely ripped open down their right hand side, with Marcondes and Anthony bagging a quick-fire double to end the tie and knock Everton out in the third round.
Under-21s pair Stanley Mills and Tom Cannon got a taste of the action, but the Toffees ultimately lacked the momentum to pull anything back in a toothless performance.
