A video posted on social media shows a rat scurrying over a Glasgow street in broad daylight.
The video was recorded and shared to Twitter yesterday morning, with viewers able to watch one rat boldly scurrying through Annette Street in Govanhill. It looks as though the rat is drawn to rubbish on the street, which it is taking as it's next meal.
According to a resident of the street, this is a regular occurrence in Govanhill, although you are more likely to see them in back gardens, rather than on the main street.

The twitter user who posted the video told Glasgow Live: "This was my first time that I’ve seen a rat in the street but I have seen videos and people saying they have seen them in broad daylight.
"It appears they are not afraid to be seen in the streets as they are so used to the surroundings."
They added: "This is a regular occurrence In Govanhill. You tend to see them more often in the back gardens of Gurturk Street as the bins get over-filled and this causes the infestation.
"The council don’t appear to be fixing the issues."
A spokesman for Glasgow City Council said: “We provide a free pest control service for domestic premises in Glasgow and our customer care team urged the person who posted this video to report the incident to our pest control team.
“It does not appear as though such a report has been made as yet and we do require further information than was provided in the social media post before we can respond.
“Disposing of food waste appropriately by ensuring it is properly contained within a bin will help to deter rats from coming into an area.
“A failure to dispose of food waste appropriately can undermine the effectiveness of any pest control treatment. “
