A rat-infested house which was a magnet for anti-social behaviour and drug use has been closed by police. Activity around the property in Macclesfield has brought misery to the local community, it is claimed.
A three-month closure order has been slapped on the house in Dawson Road. The occupier, a 60-year-old woman, has been ordered to leave the premises and find alternative accommodation.
In a statement Cheshire Constabulary said: "Over the years, officers have received numerous reports of ASB and drug related activity at the property on Dawson Road. These reports have included issues with drug dealing, large numbers of people attending at the address drinking heavily, disorder and rats at the property.
