Abt driver Rast put together a credible title challenge on his return to the DTM after a year away in Formula E, scoring one win, six podiums and three poles with the updated Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.
He ultimately fell 15 points short of the crown in his final season with the brand, finishing third in the standings behind future BMW brand-mate Sheldon van der Linde and runner-up Lucas Auer (Mercedes).
