NEW DELHI: In a setback for Australia's Big Bash League (BBL), Afghanistan's star leg-spinner, Rashid Khan, has made the difficult decision to pull out of the upcoming tournament due to a back injury that requires minor surgery. Khan, the world's top-ranked Twenty20 bowler, was slated to play for the Adelaide Strikers for the seventh consecutive year in the BBL set to commence next month.
The Adelaide Strikers' general manager, Tim Nielson, expressed the club's disappointment at losing Khan for the season. In a statement, Nielson said, "Rashid is a beloved member of the Strikers and a fan favourite who has been with us for seven years, so he will be extremely missed this summer."
