Rashford and McTominay start as Manchester United fans choose line-up vs Newcastle

Marcus Rashford looks to have recovered from injury in time to face Newcastle and Manchester United fans have backed the forward to be in from the off.

United travel to St James' Park for a crucial league game and the first of a hectic run-in. Erik ten Hag's side could play up to 19 games across three competitions over the next two months with two trophies still up for grabs in the FA Cup and Europa League.

But focus is currently on the league and Newcastle, with Ten Hag aiming to cement his side's place in the top-four and qualification for next season's Champions League. The Dutchman had been sweating on Rashford's fitness after he pulled out of England duty, but an admission of hope that the forward will be fit has alleviated concern.

Rashford travelled with the squad on Saturday and United fans have backed the 25-year-old to be fit enough to start. Rashford has 27 goals to his name already this season - nearly three times anyone else in the squad - and scored the second in February's Carabao Cup win over the Magpies.

Ten Hag insisted Wout Weghorst can have a longer-term future at Old Trafford in the build-up to this game and the striker has been backed to start a 19th consecutive game. The 30-year-old enjoyed one of his best performances in the cup final, but will be desperate to add to the two goals he has scored since joining United.

On the left, Antony will be relatively fresh after only coming off the bench in Brazil's friendly against Morocco last Saturday, the 23-year-old preferred to Jadon Sancho.

Ten Hag will have a decision to make in midfield with Casemiro suspended, and United supporters have backed Scott McTominay and Marcel Sabitzer to start fresh off the back of their brilliant performances for Scotland and Austria respectively. Bruno Fernandes has been a near ever-present this season, and the Portuguese midfielder is set to start a 53rd game for club and country.

United's defence has mostly picked itself all season, with Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane all clear first-choices in front of another consistent performer in David de Gea. The major question has always been at right-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot battling for minutes - and fans have picked the former's defensive solidity for this afternoon.
