A match-worn shirt from Rangers' historic 1972 European Cup Winners' Cup triumph over Dynamo Moscow in Barcelona will headline a rare sporting memorabilia auction next month.
McTear's will put up midfielder Alfie Conn's jersey, which is set to become the first jersey from that match to come to auction. They describe it as 'one of the most important pieces of Rangers memorabilia to ever go under the hammer' and that it could fetch between £15-20,000. It will appear on the More than a Game: Sporting Medals and Shirts Auction on 14 October.
Sporting specialist at McTear's, James Bruce, said: “The Barca Bears have forged legendary status at Ibrox, with anything associated with their European run, and particularly the final itself, always attracting significant interest. A jersey from the Moscow game is a rare thing indeed, with this remarkable lot representing one of the most important pieces of Rangers memorabilia to ever come to auction.”

Rangers beat against Rennes, Sporting Club, Torino and Bayern Munich before claiming glory with a 3-2 win at a packed Nou Camp stadium.
Conn's jersey went from him to the Louden Tavern in Glasgow, where it was displayed for several years. It is now offered from a private collection of Rangers match worn shirts.
The now 70-year-old was the first post-World War II player to play for both Rangers and Celtic, spending six years at Ibrox between 1968 and 1974 - playing on the other side of Glasgow from 1977 to 1979.
