JK Rowling's first Harry Potter book, 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone', was published in 1997. Now, 25 years later, a rare edition of the first book in the Harry Potter series which has never been released to the public was auctioned recently for £8,000 (approximately INR 8,04,680).
The rare leather-bound Harry Potter book is signed by Rowling. It is one of the 15 editions which were published by Bloomsbury for a competition to mark the 15th anniversary of 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' in 2012.
