Rare brain-eating amoeba kills Arkansas resident

An Arkansas resident died after being exposed to a rare brain-eating amoeba at a country club splash pad in Little Rock, authorities say.

The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) announced the death of an unidentified person on Thursday from Naegleria fowleri, a rare infection that destroys brain tissue and causes swelling.
