A rare amber warning for ‘extreme heat’ has been issued in Scotland ahead of potentially record breaking temperatures hitting the country next week.
The Met Office says that a hot spell is expected to develop across southern Scotland from Sunday, before temperatures peak into the early part of next week.
Forecasters warn that temperatures could hit the low to mid-30s in some parts of Scotland over Monday and Tuesday - which could break all-time records.
