RAPTURE Preworkout Recalled Nationwide Five Months After FDA Warned It Contained DMAA, a Stimulant Linked to Heart Problems

A Texas supplement maker is recalling its RAPTURE Preworkout powder nationwide after FDA testing found DMAA, a stimulant that can raise blood pressure and could lead to heart problems, including heart attack. Leader Formulas, LLC, of Tomball, Texas, announced the recall Oct. 6, and the FDA posted the notice Oct. 7.

The recall comes about five months after the FDA warned consumers not to buy or use the product. The company has received no reports of adverse events, according to its voluntary recall notice posted by the FDA.
