Rapper Sean Kingston, born Kisean Anderson, and his mother, Janice Turner, have pleaded not guilty to charges of defrauding multiple businesses of over $1 million. The plea was entered during an arraignment hearing before Broward Circuit Judge Ernest Kollra.
Bond was previously set at $90,000, and there were no changes made during the hearing. The duo faces charges of organized fraud and grand theft.
The arrest of Kingston, 34, took place in Fort Irwin, California, following a warrant issued by the Broward Sheriff’s Office after a SWAT team raided his home in Southwest Ranches. The accusations involve defrauding a jewelry business, luxury bed company, used luxury and exotic car dealership, and luxury microLED TV company since October 2023.
Kingston and Turner, 61, are scheduled to appear in court on October 11 and are also confronting related charges in federal court.
Sean Kingston rose to fame in 2007 at the age of 17 with his hit song “Beautiful Girls,” which sampled the musical track of “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King.
