- Nicholas Rossi, an American rapist who faked his own death , has died in a US hospital at the age of 38.
- He was serving a jail sentence in Utah for the rape of two women in 2008, having been extradited from the UK earlier this year.
- The Utah Department of Corrections confirmed his death resulted from complications of an existing medical condition after he chose to discontinue medical treatment.
- Rossi, also known as Nicholas Alahverdian, was captured in Glasgow, Scotland , in 2021 after hospital staff recognised his distinctive tattoos from an Interpol notice while he was being treated for Covid-19.
- He had vehemently denied his identity during extradition proceedings, claiming to be an Irish orphan named Arthur Knight, but a Scottish judge ruled against him, leading to his extradition to the US in January 2024.
