Raphinha on verge of Barcelona move after 'full agreement reached' with Leeds United

Leeds United have reached a full agreement with Barcelona over the sale of Raphinha. That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims the Whites have today accepted a guaranteed fee of €58 million that could reach €67 million in add ons.

The two clubs have been in discussions for a number of weeks now with Raphinha having made it clear that his preferred destination has always been Barcelona. Negotiations have been tough given Barcelona’s financial problems, with the Spanish side having been reluctant to meet Leeds’ asking price that became apparent two weeks ago when Chelsea agreed a fee.

The Blues jumped in ahead of Arsenal to swiftly reach an agreement with Leeds, though Raphinha and his agent Deco have held off in talks over personal terms in the hope of holding out for Barca. And it finally appears as though Raphinha’s patience has paid off, with the 25-year-old set to land his dream move to the Camp Nou.

Writing on his official Twitter account this evening, transfer guru Romano said: “Raphinha to Barcelona, here we go! Full agreement reached with Leeds after today’s bid accepted: €58m fixed fee plus add-ons up to total €67m package.

“Raphinha only wanted Barça since February and he’s set to sign until June 2027, time for documents and contracts.”

Raphinha will become Leeds’ second high profile sale of the summer following Kalvin Phillips’ £42 million switch to Manchester City last week. Leeds have moved quickly to secure their replacements, though, with Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca, Darko Gyabi, Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra all coming in.
