Raphinha makes clear 'preference' on next club amid Arsenal and Barcelona transfer links

Leeds United winger Raphinha wants to join Barcelona over Arsenal if recent reports are to be believed.

The north London outfit are keen to bolster their attacking options this summer, football.london understands and Brazilian international Raphinha is one name that has been mooted as a potential target in recent weeks. However, Mundo Deportivo have reported that the 25-year-old favours a move to Catalan giants Barcelona.

Their report claims that the Blaugrana are not worried about the former Lille attacker potentially being lured elsewhere, with the player said to be keen to move to the Nou Camp. The talented wide man has said in recent times that his future isn't in his hands, claiming that his agent Deco and Leeds control what happens next in his career.

"I have a contract with Leeds until 2024, my future is in the hands of Deco and Leeds," he said while on international duty with Brazil. "I have my mind set on the national team, on the game and also on my vacations.

"I have a contract with Leeds and this issue is resolved by my agent. When there is something, he will tell me."

Raphinha enjoyed an excellent 2021/22 campaign with Leeds, netting 11 goals and providing a further three assists in the Premier League. Arsenal are also interested in his Brazilian compatriot Gabriel Jesus and technical director Edu has held talks with the player's representatives in recent times, football.london understands.

Jesus is said to be keen to be a first-team regular next term and given City have added fellow forwards Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez to the ranks this summer, he could struggle to consistently play for Pep Guardiola's side if he opted to stay at the Etihad Stadium.
