In a shocking incident, rape of a minor was alleged at Sangareddy district headquarters. The incident took place on March 24 and the next day the accused was arrested under POCSO Act.
Some public organisations brought this issue to the notice of Collector M. Hanumantha Rao on Wednesday, submitted a memorandum and urged him to come to the rescue of the victim’s family.
According to police, a couple had migrated along with their children to Rajampet in Sangareddy district headquarters town from Yellampally in Tekmal mandal of Medak district. They are eking out a living by doing daily wage works. About a week ago, one Venkatesh, a neighbour, entered the house and reportedly raped the girl when parents went for work.
Based on the complaint of the victim’s mother, the Sangareddy town police arrested the accused and sent him in remand.
