There’s SO MUCH to take in with the 2023 Masters.
Will Tiger Woods contend? Will Rory McIlroy win his first green jacket and complete the career grand slam? How will LIV golfers fare against their PGA Tour counterparts?
But you can’t watch all of the contenders at the same time. There are so many groups that if you try to pick one trio to follow, it won’t be the most fun.
We’re here to help! We scanned through all the groups and came up with the top 10 ranked by watchability.
Let’s run through them (and yes, Tiger Woods is in one of them):
10
Abraham Ancer, Chris Kirk, Keegan Bradley
OK, look: Some of these groups will have LIV golfers. And some of the reason to watch them is to see how they’ll fare against PGA Tour vets like Bradley.
9
Adam Scott, Patrick Cantlay, Kurt Kitayama
Scott, as you can see above, has won a green jacket before. And I love Cantlay this year. So this is a top-10 group.
8
Phil Mickelson, Tom Hoge, Si Woo Kim
It’s perfectly OK to admit that you’ll tune in to watch Lefty play, even if it’s something akin to hate-watching or wondering how he’s playing since you don’t watch LIV Golf.
7
Hideki Matsuyama, Cameron Smith, Sungjae Im
Cam could win the whole thing, as could the other two (a second jacket for Matsuyama!).
6
Jordan Spieth, Tommy Fleetwood, Tony Finau
We’ve reached the elite groups, where it was tough for me to figure out who I wanted to watch more. I feel like I’m underrating this trio.
5
Tom Kim, Rory McIlroy, Sam Burns
I mean, it’s Rory. Him alone makes him a top group, but I’m intrigued by the other two here.
4
Scottie Scheffler, Max Homa, Sam Bennett
What a group this is!
3
Matt Fitzpatrick, Collin Morikawa, Will Zalatoris
But this group? Whew.
2
Tiger Woods, Viktor Hovland, Xander Schauffele
Of course.
1
Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, Cameron Young
Sorry, Tiger. This is the one I’ll be following on Thursday and Friday.
