MUMBAI: Throughout this season, Mumbai have found players who gave them the edge and kept them a step ahead of the competition.
In their last Elite Group B game against Assam it was the turn of Shardul Thakur, and Shivam Dube as Mumbai raced to an innings and 80-run win in less than two days at the BKC on Saturday. Thakur, who had taken 6-21 in the first innings, recorded figures of 4-31 in the second to guide Mumbai to their fourth win with a bonus point. The 41-time champions finished their group proceedings with 37 points. They will face the second-placed team from Group D in the quarterfinal at the same venue from Friday.
