On his day, Karnataka skipper Manish Pandey is unstoppable. The format, opposition or his batting position is of little relevance. It was one such day at the Guru Nanak College ground in Chennai on Thursday. In their opening Ranji Trophy Elite C fixture against Railways, Karnataka rode on fine centuries from Pandey (156, 121b, 12x4, 10x6) and KV Siddharth (140 n.o, 221b, 17x4, 1x6) to post 392/5 in 90 overs.
Pandey and Siddharth's innings were as different as chalk and cheese. Their fourth-wicket partnership yielded a quickfire 283-ball 267. While Siddharth was all poise and composure, Pandey was in an attacking mood. He issued an early warning to the opposition when he struck a maximum off the second ball he faced.
