Ranji Trophy: Fragile middle order continues to haunt Chandigarh against Baroda

CHANDIGARH: 30, 35 and 38 were the only notable partnerships for Chandigarh before being bundled out for a meagre 168 in 62.3 overs, and merely two sessions into the first day's play of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match against Baroda in Cuttack. Baroda made good use of the remaining overs to pile up 80 for 1 and trail by 88 runs at stumps.

Put into bat, Chandigarh got off to a decent 30-run start before losing debutant Harnoor Singh (8) cheaply, and once again the responsibility of anchoring the innings fell on the skipper Manan Vohra. Vohra looked in fluent touch, racing to a 45-ball 43, laced with 9 fours, by the time, the other opener Arslan Khan departed after scoring a patient 22.
