Neil McCann believes Rangers can still catch Celtic in race for the Premiership title - and the Ibrox club WON'T axe the Dutchman just yet.
Giovanni van Bronckhrost is now under increasing pressure following a 2-1 defeat at St Johnstone that leaves his men trailing Ange Postecoglou and his troops by seven points at the top of the table after just 13 games. The Hoops showed their credentials with two late goals against Dundee United after the visitors levelled in the 87th minute to take the game 4-2.
However, less than 24 hours later the Light Blues were unable to respond as they slumped to another poor result. After the game the Rangers faithful made their thoughts and feeling known loud and clear as they gathered in numbers to confront skipper James Tavernier. The Ibrox men won't have much time to reflect on the result with a huge match against Hearts to come in Govan on Wednesday night before a trip to St Mirren.

Despite the result and the outcry of anger, McCann believes Van Bronckhorst will remain the man in the dugout for now. He admits the result in Perth is 'very damaging' but he can't see the board making the big call on his future just yet, with the title race still on.
He said: "He'll know (the pressure is on). I was watching his body language at the side of the pitch and he cut a frustrated figure.
"I was looking to see what was happening behind him as well, sometimes the boys behind him can come out and try and generate a bit of passion, because Gio is not that guy.
"He doesn't really get involved too much showing outwardly his passion. But sometimes it has to come from the bench, just to try and get the players going to try understand that it's almost desperation.
"I think he will come under enormous pressure but I can't see the club doing anything in terms of his job just now. Seven points is seven points. They're not out the title race with so much football to be done. But it is very, very damaging to him."
Speaking to Rangers TV after the defeat, Van Bronckhorst said: "It is is very disappointing in the end to drop three points. We started excellently in the first 30 minutes.
"We should have scored the first goal and with the chances we had, we could have already killed the game. We weren't clinical enough.
"We concede the first goal and the second, and it is unacceptable in the way we concede that. St Johnstone defended deep and well and we found it difficult to create chances."
