Andy Walker has described Rangers as "streets ahead" of Celtic following their two most recent derby victories.

The former Celtic striker admitted his old club were battered from pillar to post at Ibrox in a 3-0 defeat before another 1-0 success in the east end of Glasgow before the international break kicked off.

Derek McInnes' side were well above their rivals on both days and Walker confessed that he had not seen many derby matches with one side so far in front of the other in recent times.

"The biggest thing for me, in the last two weeks, was just the dominance of Rangers," he told Go Radio. "Neither game was close.

"I thought Rangers absolutely battered Celtic at Ibrox and I thought they were streets ahead at Parkhead."

Asked if his former club should be worried about Rangers and their title push this season, Walker acknowledged Gers' form as well as the history of the rivalry.

“Oh, you worry about Rangers all the time," he added.

“You never take your greatest rivals for granted, no matter how much you feel that you might be on top.”
