Rangers warned Napoli are 'unplayable' and are facing a phenomenon in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Italian World Cup-winning legend Beppe Dossena has warned Rangers that Napoli are completely unplayable at the moment, ahead of tonight's Champions League showdown.

Napoli are in ominous form ahead of the clash with a struggling Rangers side, who have yet to collect a point in the group stages. They equalled a club record of 11 wins in a row in all competitions at the weekend with a 1-0 win at Jose Mourinho's Roma, which was set when Diego Maradona was in his prime in 1986.

And former Sampdoria and Torino midfielder Dossena reckons Rangers are on a hiding to nothing in Naples. He said: "At the moment, Napoli are unplayable. They are by far the best team in Italy right now and probably in Europe. I know we are only in October, but they are so superior to all the other clubs in Italy and should easily win Serie A.

"As for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, he is incredible. He is a phenomenon. If I was on the Napoli board, I would lock him up after training because he is so valuable! He is an extraordinary player."

Meanwhile, former Rangers striker Marco Negri admits he's stunned at how poor Rangers have been in the group stages.

Negri - who was signed from Perugia for £3.5 million in 1997 and netted 33 goals in the first half of a season before an eye injury ended his campaign - fears the worst for his former club. He said: "Nobody expected Rangers to be so disappointing in this Champions League.

"It has exposed so many limitations in terms of the quality of their players. I think Napoli will rotate their team, but that could be a danger to Rangers too because they have very crowded attacking options and these guys will be hungry."
