Rangers are reportedly keen to sign Kenny McLean this summer.
It's claimed Ibrox chiefs are interested in a transfer swoop for the Scotland and Norwich midfielder.
McLean - a boyhood supporter - has previously admitted his desire to turn out for Rangers in his playing career.
The Daily Record report McLean has been watched by Ibrox recruitment chiefs this summer with Philippe Clement having the former St Mirren midfielder on a list of targets.
It's thought Rangers scouts watched McLean playing for both club and country ahead of a possible swoop for the player this summer.
The former Aberdeen ace has two years left on his Norwich deal - he captained the club on numerous occasions last season as a regular starter in the Championship.
It's claimed for a deal to be struck it depends upon the set asking price from Norwich City - who recently appointed Johannes Hoff Thorup as head coach - as well as the guarantee of a lengthy deal in Glasgow.
McLean previously admitted he would love to play for Rangers having grown up supporting the club.
He told The Athletic in 2021: "I'd be lying if I said it wasn't something I'd want to do. As a kid that's what you want to do, play for your boyhood team.
"Right now, I'm about to play in the Premier League again, so I'm not thinking about it!
"But for me and my family, it would be pretty special.
"I grew up a Rangers fan, used to go to the games with my dad and as a kid in Glasgow, you support Rangers or Celtic and you want to play for one of them. So, I was on the better side."
