Rangers vs Livingston score predicted by simulation as Morelos tipped for form return in Ibrox rout

Rangers will be looking to make it three wins in six days across all competitions on Saturday when they host Livingston in the Scottish Premiership.

Following their 2-1 win over Motherwell last weekend, Rangers beat Dundee in the Premier Sports Cup on Wednesday, earning themselves a spot in the semi-finals at Hampden Park. They will face Aberdeen for a spot against Celtic or Kilmarnock in the final, but for now, all attention is on the Scottish Premiership.

The Light Blues currently sit second in the table, just two points off Celtic. Giovanni van Bronckhorst 's side are unbeaten in their last 15 meetings with Livingston, with the visitor's last win over the Gers coming back in 2018.

Ryan Jack, Conor Goldson, Ianis Hagi and Tom Lawrence will all miss the clash on Saturday, whilst John Souttar and Filip Helander are both doubts. So, can Rangers keep the pressure on Celtic this weekend? We used FIFA 23 to try and predict the score.

Rangers vs Livingston score predicted by simulation

To complete this simulation, we used FIFA 23 and updated the Rangers squad with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Rangers could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: McGregor; Tavernier, King, Davies, Barisic; Lundstram, Davis; Kent, Arfield, Matondo; Colak.

We predict that the visitors could set up in a 3-5-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: George; Devlin, Obileye, Kelly; Bahamboula, Pittman, Holt, Omeonga, Penrice; Guthrie, Nouble.

Rangers got off to an awful start as James Tavernier turned a cross into his own net in the first two minutes to send the Light Blues behind. But, Rangers responded perfectly, and after 15 minutes, they were 2-1 up.

Scott Arfield was found just outside the box, and with an overload of options, he spotted Antonio Colak unmarked inside the box. Arfield found the striker with a through ball, and Colak fired a first-time shot past the 'keeper to make it 2-1.

Just minutes after his first, Colak was on the scoresheet again, this time meeting Ryan Kent's low cross at the near post to head past the 'keeper and send his side into the lead. Rangers entered the break 2-1 up, and after a period of sustained pressure, they found a third.

A short corner was played to Kent out wide, and after sizing up his marker, the winger explosively pulled away from the defender before dragging a cross back into the box. Arfield was on hand to strike the ball towards goal, sending the 'keeper the wrong way and extending the lead.

All of a sudden, the visitors capitulated, with Livingston making error after error at the back, gifting opportunities to Rangers. Kent hit the post after intercepting a poor back pass, but Fashion Sakala made no mistake when he capitalised on a defensive mistake, making it 4-1 to the hosts.

Kent's high press on the right forced Sean Kelly into making a loose pass, straight into the path of Rabbi Matondo. With defenders out of position, the Welshman squared the ball to Sakala, and the forward tapped into an empty net

In the final 10 minutes, substitute Alfredo Morelos scored twice to make it 6-1 to Rangers. Both goals were scored in similar ways - the first a header at the back post from Kent's deep cross, the second a volley from the same position after Kent found the striker once again.

FIFA 23 predicted final score: Rangers 6-1 Livingston

Here are the full-time match stats.
