Kenny McLean is on Rangers' radar with a potential pre-contract option being explored, according to a report.
The Scotland international, who made the move south of the border with Norwich City after stints with Aberdeen and St Mirren in the Premiership, is heading out on contract in the summer with his current terms at Carrow Road expiring at the end of the season. The 30-year-old was in the Ibrox youth system previously but was released but he could now be set for a return to the club report the Scottish Daily Express.
McLean, 30, has played 20 times in all competitions this season - including 18 appearances in the English Championship as the Canaries bid to return to the riches of the English Premier League. They currently sit inside the play-off positions in fifth place, just six points behind the automatic promotion spots with 21 games of the campaign played. Giovanni van Bronckhorst faces a big January transfer window and he could look to bring in the midfielder on board in the new year claim the same report but a fee would need to be agreed to make that deal happen.

McLean has previously expressed a love for Rangers and admitted at the time playing for his boyhood club is always something that he wanted to do.
Speaking in an interview with The Athletic, he said: "I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t something I’d want to do. As a kid that’s what you want to do, play for your boyhood team. Right now, I’m about to play in the Premier League again, so I’m not thinking about it! But for me and my family, it would be pretty special.
“I grew up a Rangers fan, used to go to the games with my dad and as a kid in Glasgow, you support Rangers or Celtic and you want to play for one of them. So, I was on the better side.”
Rangers currently trail rivals Celtic by nine points at the Premiership summit with the league shutdown for the World Cup in Qatar.
The Light Blues return to competitive action on December 15 against Hibs.
They face Bayer Leverkusen at Ibrox five days earlier on December 10 to get some match sharpness ahead of the big return.
