We're into the eye of the transfer storm now and Rangers have been chasing it like a tornado enthusiast.
A summer of change is ongoing at Michael Beale's side, who kicked things off with key departures like Allan McGregor, Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent. Now all attention is on who is coming in to replace them, with the latter's number 14 shirt already handed to Dutch forward Sam Lammers after his entrance from Atlanta.
He follows Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling and Jack Butland through the door, with boss Beale saying recently his plans prior to pre-season were ahead of schedule. But rumours will continue to fly regardless, with fans wondering if Jose Cifuentes could be the next announced, or whether Malik Tillman will make a return following a loan spell from Bayern Munich. Amid questions over the vacant sporting director too, we take a look at the latest flies on the wall.
Cyriel Dessers
The Nigerian striker at Serie A side Cremonese has been prominently linked with pulling on the famous blue shirt. But he could be in line for a bit of thinking.
According to Tuttosport, Torino are another side in the mix for his services. They want to bolster their front line and have identified the 28-year-old as a man for the job.
It's claimed 'reinforcements are urgently needed' in Torino's attack and that could hint towards an imminent approach for Dessers. With Beale keen, that leaves the target with some thinking to do on where he wants to be.
Haji Wright
Another striker who has been linked with Rangers this summer is American international Wright. But it seems as if rumours surrounding the Antalyaspor striker are about to fade into the distance.
After reports of a seven-figure bid from Ibrox earlier this month, TorosGazeti suggest Wright 'is waiting for news from Fenerbahce. Ryan Kent recently joined the Super Lig giants following his Light Blues contract expiry.
They claim that 'Wright is one of the most prominent candidates' and that president Ali Koc will give his backing to the move for whoever is named head coach. But it seems murmurings of Glasgow are about to be muted.
Steve Morrow
Ross Wilson's sporting director role still hasn't been filled but amid talk of the like of Carlos Bocanegra coming in, Morrow's name has been mentioned. He worked at the FA as head of player selection and talent strategy between May 2021 and February 2023.
According to The Athletic, the selection process for Wilson's replacement is being conducted by Executives in Sport, who have been involved with Premier League clubs in the past. An appointment is not expected imminently.
The report states 'It is still in the early stages with a list being drawn up before Rangers’ board and executive team conduct thorough interviews.' Former Arsenal defender Morrow held various Gunners roles before joining The FA and worked as the club’s head of youth development between 2014 and 2019.
