Rangers transfer news as Danilho Doekhi vents Vitesse frustrations and Andreas Skov Olsen 'preference' comes to light

Reported Rangers target Danilho Doekhi has criticised teammate Lois Openda for his red card against Gronigen.

Dutch defender Doekhi has long been linked with a move to Ibrox and that has intensified since Gio van Bronckhorst 's arrival in November.

He's been mooted as a long-term replacement for Connor Goldson who looks set to leave when his contract expires in the summer.

Rangers have landed John Souttar on a pre-contract agreement from Hearts but it's believed Van Bronckhorst wants a centre-back now. And if an agreement can't be reached with the Jambos to bring Souttar in early then Doekhi is one they could push for instead.

The 23-year-old has frequently flirted with the speculation, earlier saying interest from Rangers was "beautiful" before stating he would prefer to leave in the summer.

In the wake of Vitesse's defeat to Gronigen on Saturday, however, there was no talk over his personal future. Instead the focus was on winger Lois Openda, who saw red for lashing out at Mike te Wierik.

A frustrated Doekhi didn't pull his punches as he called the youngster out for "disadvantaging" his team.

"That was not clever of Lois", Doekhi judged. "He disadvantaged the team. With ten, it became a difficult job."

Meanwhile links with Danish winger Andreas Skov Olsen remain, although there is plenty of competition for the frozen-out Bologna star.

As well as FC Copenhagen, Belgian side Club Brugge have emerged as a potential destination.

And now Belgian outlet Nieuwsblad.be report that Brugge have offered a "better salary" than Copenhagen, and claim that they are the "preferred option" for Skov Olsen as a result.
