Connor Young's move from Hibs to Rangers has been confirmed.
The teenage striker was an impressive performer in the Hibees' under-18 side last term, scoring 25 times as they clinched European football for this term. League title glory was claimed on points-per-game basis, but there's two other promising strikers in Leith, Ethan Laidaw and Josh O'Connor. Young's exit has been agreed to allow that duo more opportunities, with Hibs netting a five-figure sum from the Rangers deal on top of a sell-on clause.
Academy Director Steve Kean said: “Connor was part of a very successful U18 side last season and scored a lot of goals, so it’s no surprise that there has been interest in him. Last season there were a number of scouts from Scotland and England watching our games, which is testament to the young players we have in the Academy and the coaching curriculum that we’re offering at Hibernian FC.
