Rangers transfer arrival gathers pace as club confirm talks underway ahead of player's 'dream' move

Ridvan Yilmaz says he is making his dreams a reality as he confirms he's leaving Besiktas ahead of his imminent arrival at Rangers.

The Turkish international has one year left on his deal at the Turkish Super Lig club and will come in to Ibrox as a replacement for left-sided defender Calvin Bassey, who has joined Eredivisie champions Ajax. His club - at least officially - at the moment have confirmed talks with Rangers over Yilmaz but the left-back himself has broken his silence to confirm that it is all but a done deal.

Speaking through sports agency De Marke, the defender said: "I am very happy, I am making my dream come true. I had a dream of making money and leaving this club and I made it happen. Of course, it hurts to leave, but everyone should know that I went to represent the great Beşiktaş community in Europe in the best way possible.

"Of course, it hurts to leave, but everyone should know that I went to represent the great Beşiktaş community in Europe in the best way possible.

"I am very emotional. I have been in Beşiktaş for 13 years. I would like to thank everyone who contributed. Separations are also included in love. We always have a brotherhood."

Confirming talks, Besiktas said: "Negotiations have started regarding the definitive transfer of our professional football player Rıdvan Yılmaz to Rangers FC Club."
