Tom Heaton is somebody Rangers should be looking to sign - as he is too good to be sitting as Manchester United third choice.
The experience goalkeeper is currently backing up David de Gea at Old Trafford but former Burnley team-mate Paul Robinson reckons he is somebody who could benefit Rangers. It's been a highly-debated position at Ibrox, with 40-year-old Allan McGregor replacing Jon McLaughlin as number one, but neither have looked overly convincing while Robby McCrorie sits behind them.
Robinson believes Heaton would benefit from leaving Manchester United and playing football while he still can, now at the age of 36. He told Football Insider: “If they can get him out of Man United, Tom would be an excellent option. Tom is somebody who has a lot of unfinished business. He got injured at Aston Villa and never won his place back because [Emiliano] Martinez came in.

“He has not been given a fair chance at Man United. I suspect promises have been made by previous managers and nothing has come to fruition.
“Tom is far better than being number three goalkeeper, no matter what club he is at. He is not at that stage of his career yet. He has so much to give.
“A move to a club like Rangers would be a very good move for him. It would be great for Rangers as well because he is a top-class goalkeeper. Tom is hungry. He would be a fantastic acquisition for any club.”
