Former Liverpool and Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam believes current Gers boss Michael Beale is making a big call to let some experienced players leave Ibrox this summer. Allan McGregor, Alfredo Morelos, Scott Arfield and Filip Helander will all leave Rangers when their contracts expire this summer, with former Leeds United transfer target Ryan Kent also set to leave.
The Whites have been linked with a move for the 26-year-old winger on a number of occasions, but a number of European clubs are also interested in his services this summer. Speculation linking him with a move to Elland Road has remained rife, with Kent expected to seal a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the coming weeks.
Leeds are still said to have some interest in the winger, while newly promoted sides Burnley and Sheffield United are also keen on signing the outgoing Gers midfielder, according to the Scottish Sun. Reports in Turkey claim Kent could earn up to £1.4million a year with Fenerbahce - a similar salary to the one he currently earns at Ibrox.
The former Liverpool trainee scored 33 goals in 218 appearances for Rangers and was part of Steven Gerrard's title-winning side back in 2020-21. Kent also featured heavily in the Gers' side that reached the Europa League final in 2021-22, where they were narrowly beaten by Eintracht Frankfurt.

Speaking to NeueOnlineCasinos.io, Adam said: “He’s had a period now of five or six months of being in the job and seeing what he wants to do. He’s changed things and made big decisions in terms of letting players go.
"McGregor is retiring but letting Arfield, Kent and Morelos leave is a big call. He’ll say they’ve done great for the football club but it’s time that I started to put my own imprint on this club and this group.
"I’ve only met him a couple of times but what I hear about him is all very impressive. He’s a good man manager, a good coach which is something you need so I ‘m delighted he’s getting the opportunity."
