Rangers teenager Charlie Lindsay admits the Ibrox club’s youngsters were taught a valuable lesson by Glentoran in Sunday’s pre-season friendly in Belfast.
Mick McDermott's men, preparing for the new Danske Bank Premiership campaign on August 13, ran out comfortable 6-3 winners at the BetMcLean Oval.
It was a bright display from the Big Two giants and an eye-opener for a young Rangers B side, including former Glens midfielder Lindsay.

Lindsay, who joined the Light Blues from the Mersey Street club in 2020, told Rangers TV : “It was a learning curve for all of us. We’re still young boys and it was good for us.
“We’re obviously disappointed we got beat and there were some positives and some negatives but it’s just about learning from it really.
“It was good for us because it was a good side we played today with strong, physical attributes. We just have to get used to it.”
While Lindsay, who made his Glentoran debut at the age of 15 in 2019, was frustrated with the result, he was pleased to play against his former club in East Belfast.
“It was nice to see some ex-teammates and some of my family and friends in the stands, but obviously disappointed we didn’t get the win in front of them,” he said.
Jay Donnelly, Paddy McClean, Rory Donnelly, Ally Roy, Jordan Jenkins and Danny Purkis were all on target for the Big Two giants at the Oval.
Josh McPake bagged a double for Rangers to make it 2-2 while a trialist for the Glasgow club pulled one back at 5-3 in the latter stages before Purkis added a sixth for the Glens.
The Rangers B team included Northern Ireland underage defender Lewis MacKinnon and winger Ross McCausland who made his senior Rangers debut in a 3-1 win over Hearts in May.
