Rangers team to face Motherwell as Michael Beale springs Alex Lowry surprise and Barisic returns

Michael Beale has named his Rangers side to face Motherwell as he hopes to continue his winning start.

The Light Blues return to home comforts at Ibrox after two tricky away trips to the North East and the Highlands. A dramatic encounter against Aberdeen at Pittodrie last week saw Beale's men battle back to win the game with two goals from Scott Arfield sealing three points in added time when all seemed lost. That incredible win was backed by a solid display in Dingwall on Friday. Tonight they face a Motherwell side sitting ninth in the table as they try and put pressure on rivals Celtic who sit nine points clear.

Rangers boss Beale could welcome back goal-machine Antonio Colak and Kemar Roofe who returned to training this week. The Englishmen has tried to implement a different style since taking over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst in November, with Ryan Kent playing a new role, with two up front.

The big surprise of the night comes in Alex Lowry, with the promising young attacker given his first start this season.

The manager has told of his plans to use Colak and Alfredo Morelos in a strike partnership and that could be the case tonight, with the Croatian hitman on the bench.

Borna Barisic returns to the side following his World Cup heroics with Croatia.

Connor Goldson partners Ben Davies again, with Allan McGregor returning to the side following a sickness bug.

Speaking ahead of the clash with the Steelmen Beale asked to see more control of games. He said: "I just want the three points at the moment.

"I would like to see us have more control just at certain times, be a bit stronger in our positioning and in the duels over the pitch. The things in the final third will click over time. We have been missing Antonio, Kemar, Ianis and Tom."

RANGERS XI: McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Davies, Barisic, Lundstram, Jack, Lowry, Tillman, Morelos, Kent
