Rangers talent could land Celtic Park chance as Ibrox squad for derby reveals big opportunity

Uddingston teenager Alex Lowry could land a huge chance against Celtic this evening as the Rangers squad for tonight's derby is revealed.

Glasgow's two giants go head-to-head this evening at Parkhead in a game which could have a huge bearing on this year's Premiership title race.

18-year-old Lowry - who graduated from Motherwell's Braidhurst high school - made his Rangers debut against Stirling Albion last month and scored following his Scottish Cup sub appearance.

Then he made his first league start against Livingston and again was an impressive performer.

Now the Daily Record report he has been named in Giovanni van Bronckhorst's squad to take on Celtic at Parkhead tonight.

A creative midfielder, Lowry has formed part of Rangers' Lowland League 'B' team this season. His agent, Des McKeown, told Lanarkshire Live Sport of his talent last month.

He said: "He can do things other people can only dream about. He just needs some luck along the way and he needs to apply himself right.

"There’s not a huge amount to him but he will fill out. He’s worked hard on that. Now it’s down to what he does on the pitch.

"Talent on its own won’t get him to where his potential could possibly take him. That’s something everyone is drilling into him. His talent can take him anywhere.”
