Rangers starting XI vs Liverpool confirmed as big Alfredo Morelos or Antonio Colak decision made

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has opted for Alfredo Morelos up top for Rangers against Liverpool with Leon King also in from the start.

The Light Blues gaffer faced the huge pre-match decision and he has now made the big call. Summer recruit Antonio Colak has been sensational for his new club, netting 11 goals in all competitions including two goals last time out against Hearts. However, like last time against Napoli, the Croatian will have to make do with a place on the bench with Morelos preferred.

The Colombian netted from the bench in the big win at Tynecastle at the weekend as did Ryan Kent, with the former Liverpool man facing his old employers. He's not the only one with summer recruit Ben Davies making a quick-fire return to his old club.

It's set to be a huge Battle of Britain showdown with Jurgen Klopp's men struggling for consistency this season. They sit ninth in the English Premier League with just ten points from seven games. They've also been leaking the goals including three in a share of the spoils with Brighton at the weekend.

Allan McGregor is back in the sticks once again with his experience and big game player tag no doubt tested again tonight.

Skipper James Tavernier is joined in the backline with Connor Goldson, Davies, Leon King and Borna Barisic.

John Lundstram and Steven Davis play as the midfield two with Kent and Malik Tillman wide.

Morelos is the man up top.

Rangers XI: McGregor, Tavernier, Lundstram, Goldson, S.Davis, Kent, Morelos, Davies, Barisic, King, Tillman

Subs: McCrorie, McLaughlin, Yilmaz, Jack, Colak, Matondo, Kamara, Wright, Sakala, Arfield, Devine
