Calvin Bassey has heightened transfer speculation around his future at Rangers as he is left out of the squad for today's friendly at Blackpool.
Ibrox boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be hoping his side gets to play the full 90 minutes at Bloomfield Road after their last friendly versus Sunderland in Portugal was cancelled due to floodlight failure. They'll have to do so without Bassey, who has been left out amid talk Ajax and Brighton both want to sign him.
The Dutch champions want him to fill their soon-to-be vacant left-back spot while Brighton also wants reinforcement in that area, with a fee in the region of £25 million quoted as Rangers' asking price. New summer signing Antonio Colak starts with fellow new boys John Souttar, Tom Lawrence, and Rabbi Matondo on the bench. Malik Tilman is on the bench after arriving from Bayern Munich on Friday night.
It's another chance for van Bronckhorst's men to get minutes into their system ahead of competitive action beginning in the Premiership against Livingston two weeks from now.
Rangers XI: McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Sands, Barisic, Kamara, Jack, Lundstram, Wright, Kent, Colak
Subs: McLaughlin, McCrorie, Davis, Lawrence, Souttar, Matondo, Katic, Zukowski, Kelly, Arfield, Middleton, McCann, King, Devine.
