Rangers starting team news vs Dundee as Ridvan Yilmaz handed rare start and Kemar Roofe returns

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has made a number of changes to his Rangers side for the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final showdown with Dundee.

The Light Blues are heavy favourites to advance to the semi-final stage and book a trip to Hampden as they welcome a Dark Blues side sitting fourth in the Scottish Championship to Ibrox. Last midweek was one to forget for the Ibrox faithful as Liverpool fired SEVEN past Allan McGregor after Scott Arfield had sent Govan wild with the opening goal of the game. However, A double from Roberto Firmino, solo strikes from Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliot and a six minute hat-trick from sub Mo Salah secured a thumping win for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Rangers bounced back at the weekend as they secured a much needed three points away at Motherwell. Malik Tillman's superb solo goal and John Lundstram's header was enough to keep the gap with Celtic at just two points at the Premiership summit. Focus now turns away from league and European matters as the domestic cup takes centre stage.

Van Bronckhorst will be desperate for his men to put on a show while also safely progressing with no issues. It's a free hit for Dundee who go into this one as major underdogs. They picked up a win over Ayr United at the weekend ahead of this one.

Speaking ahead of facing Dundee, the Dutchman said: "The easiest thing for us is just to be in the Europa League or Conference League, because the opposition is less than we face now. But that’s not what you want as a top player or manager who wants to compete with the best.

“We have to make sure we learn and I think we are improving.

"There is a semi-final now available and a chance to be at Hampden again. So we want to achieve that.

“I want to win every competition I’m in, especially here in Scotland, because that’s our priority.”

Rangers XI: McLaughlin, Tavernier, Sands, King, Ridvan, Lundstram, Davis, Tillman, Fashion JR, Wright, Morelos

Subs: McCrorie, Colak, Kent, Roofe, Davies, McCann, Barisic, Arfield, Devine.
