Motherwell are set to offer Steven Davis a chance to remain in the Premiership beyond his Rangers contract expiry.
The 37-year-old played in both Europa League and Scottish Cup finals for the Light Blues last week but a decision is needed on what comes next.
He is set to hold new contract talks with the club he first joined in 2008 and returned to from Southampton seven years after exiting.
But should those not come to fruition, Motherwell 'want to make the veteran midfielder an offer if his time at Ibrox is up.'
Fir Park boss Graham Alexander will no doubt have midfielders on his mind this summer with Liam Donnelly, Mark O'Hara, Liam Grimshaw and Liam Shaw all departing.
St Mirren and former 'Well manager Stephen Robinson is also reportedly keen on linking up with his fellow Northern Irishman.
Davis has won four Premiership titles and two League and Scottish Cups while at Ibrox, amassing 344 appearances, 33 of which came during the 2021/22 term.
