Rangers star Nnamdi Ofoborh targeted by racist trolls as he plays FIFA on Twitch

Rangers midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh has shared how he was targeted by racist trolls as he streamed himself playing games online.

The star signed for the team last year but is yet to make his full debut for the club because of a heart condition.

While he is unable to play on the pitch for real pending a sign-off from medics, he appears to be enjoying doing so virtually in the game FIFA 22.

However, a live stream of his gameplay on streaming website Twitch on Tuesday was plagued by racist comments.

Ofoborh has shared the shocking remarks on his Instagram story.

In screenshots of the chat feed that accompanied his live broadcast, two viewers called him a "monkey".

However, fans of the Rangers player leapt to his defence, calling out the vile remarks.

One said: "That's bang out of order."

Another added: "No need."

The 22-year-old did not comment on the vile trolls beyond sharing the images on his public feed.

However, he has been open with his struggles with his health over the last year.

He posted on Instagram earlier this month: "This year has easily been the toughest year of my life.

"All the depression, anger, sadness and loneliness I’ve experienced but extremely grateful for the support from family, friends and teammates.

Fans of Ofoborh were quick to defend the star against the racist remarks (Instagram)

"It has been a tough year mentally and physically and as you can see a lot has gone on behind the scenes.

"Many doctors said i’m lucky to be here but i don’t believe in luck but the blessings from God. I

"I owe it all to God for aiding me on this comeback trail. I will be back. 2022 will have better days for us all."

Others watching Ofoborh playing FIFA had warmer wishes to express.

One said: "Hope your recovery is going well bro, hope to see you playing for the Gers soon."
