Rangers star John Lundstram in family Liverpool ticket joke as he identifies key for Anfield result

John Lundstram admits he has had many requests from family for tickets for Anfield but joked: 'They are not getting a ticket if they are not supporting us!'.

Rangers face a huge Battle of Britain clash against Liverpool in the Champions League tomorrow night as they bid to get off the mark in the section following defeats to Ajax and Napoli in the first two matchdays. The Light Blues head south full of confidence once again after following up their pre-international break win over Dundee United with a big triumph at Tynecastle against Hearts on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have struggled so far this campaign and once again dropped points as they shared the spoils with Brighton in a six-goal Anfield thriller. They've picked up just ten points from seven games this term and sit ninth in the English Premier League standings.

Lundstram knows despite recent results, Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men face a huge task against the Reds as he identified what Rangers need to do to get a result on the road.

Asked if he will have family at the game, laughing, he said: "Yeah, as many as I can.

Then asked what end, he joked: "At our end. They are not getting a ticket if they are not supporting us! But no I have had loads of messages and people trying to get tickets off me.

"I only get a certain amount and anyone supporting Liverpool won't be getting a ticket for our end.

"All my family members want us to win. Maybe some of my pals will want Liverpool to win buy my family are all supporting me and Rangers. They are all looking forward to it as well as us.

Speaking about the game and the task at hand, he told Sky Sports : "We've obviously lost the two, it was a better performance against Napoli and we just want to carry that into the game at Anfield.

"They're probably one of the top two teams in Europe if not the world so it'll be a tough task, but we'll go there with belief that we can get a result.

"I think our away games last year we had a good foundation to build from. First and foremost we were hard to beat and then we tried up the other end to get goals but obviously everyone knows the step up from the Europa League and the Champions League is a completely different level. It's worlds apart and we're playing against the world's best now.

"If we can get the solid foundation right and try not to concede that gives us a platform to go and win the game."

He added: "The gameplan is up to the manager of course but I think the bedrock of any team is being hard to beat. We need to get that and get back to that, it's what we have been in Europe last season we were tough to beat so going to Anfield you need to have that solid foundation whether it's a back four or five.

"Whatever the gaffer goes with we need to really be on the money and all of us, individually and collectively, need to perform well to get a result."
